We will still do these activities each week...
1) Pay attention to current events. (Check out the articles and updates on the coronavirus page, and other news.)
2) Read! Read books and novels. Learn... and take pride in YOUR learning through reading!
3) Do the tasks below... be a good caretaker of your own body, of your family, and of your community!
Do this week's five tasks, in any order, one per day:
TASK ONE:
YOUR PHYSICAL HEALTH! For week 4... keep exercising. Keep on eating fruits and vegetables at every meal. Keep trying NEW activities and NEW foods. Text me a picture of your physical activity and of one fruit or vegetable that you are eating. Tell me your name with your text! 260-417-2229. |
TASK TWO:
NEW PLACES TO CLEAN This weeks cleaning activity is to ORGANIZE something that normally doesn't get organized. A kitchen "junk" drawer? A DVD and/or CD collection? A game closet? Your old (or current) toys? (Like a lego collection or a any toy with many parts and pieces, etc.) A garage tool chest? A shed or garage yard tools area? You pick one! TAKE BEFORE AND AFTER pictures of what you have organized and send them to me once you are done. Make sure to tell me WHO you are! Text me the picture using your phone or your parents phone at 260-417-2229. |
TASK THREE:
COOKING THIS WEEK: Learn how to make something HOMEMADE... or at least as "homemade" as possible. Could be simply making popcorn the old fashioned way... real popcorn seed, oil on the stove... melt butter and add salt or seasoning... Baking a cake from a recipe (Rather than out of a box.) Same with the frosting. Fresh Vegetables... buy them, clean them, cut them, cook them. You pick! Then take a picture and send me what you've made from scratch! 260-417-2229 or [email protected] |
TASK FOUR:
THE WEEKLY LETTER This week's letter is to be to someone famous that you like! You might get an autograph back on this one! Simply look up your favorite movie star, athlete, politician, or other famous person online... often you'll find a fan mail site. Write to them, tell them who you are and anything you want about you. Tell them what you like about them. Give your return address in the letter and ask them to write you back if they are able. If you type it, e-mail me a copy of what you typed including their address... or send me a picture of what you wrote. Mail it out! I've seen students get things back from all sorts of people... President Bush, President Obama, Peyton Manning, Oprah Winfrey, Rush Limbaugh, Jeff Gordon, and many others! |
TASK FIVE:
KEEP LEARNING FOR LIFE! (Same as previous weeks.) Ask your parents to teach you something you have never done before... SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN PREVIOUS WEEKS, and learn how to do it. Then, do it again completely on your own. This could be anything.... but should really be something you didn't really know how to do before. Examples: 1. How to write a check. 2. How to groom a pet or give it a bath. 3. How to change a diaper. 4. How to use your photos to make a photo album or a shutterfly book. 5. How to trim bushes. 6. How to paint a room in your house. Previous Examples: 1. Doing the laundry.... washing, drying, folding, putting away. 2. Loading and running the dishwasher... putting soap in, setting it, and putting dishes away. 3. Cooking or baking something you did not know how to cook or bake before. If you use this in your dinner... do this one BEFORE you do the dinner-making task. 4. Change the oil on your parents car. 5. Pump the gas at the gas station and pay. Do it once with your parents. Then do it on your own while they sit in the car. 6. Pick something else you'd like to learn how to do.... and learn to do it on your own! |
