This will be Mr. Whirrett's page where we can all gather together from now through Easter and stay "current" on the events going on.
There are so many great books to read, movies to watch, and current events to pay attention to. I encourage you to participate as much as you can as these are days you will never forget! Some things may be more difficult for your family right now... but let's make the best of it and study the fascinating history being made. Someday you'll tell your kids how life suddenly changed: How almost all sports stopped, including our LBAA National Tournament and March Maddness. How the stock market dropped. How people were scared. How the COVID-19 Virus Spread. How the school building closed and how you participated in school activities over this time.
The buttons below will take you to useful tools for the next few weeks.
1) Do current events most days every week. It can be the first thing you check.
2) When you want a movie that will help us with class or with our studies in history, click on movies.
3) Use Flipgrid to stay connected to our class and for special projects.
4) Use the Audio Books link to help you with your novel reading.
5) Below those four links you will find the "Weekly Tasks" of projects and activities. Only weeks we have reached will be "active" to click on.
For other middle school teachers - Mrs. Kuehnert, Mr. Mezger, and Mrs. Frerking - please go to their Google Classroom pages each week to check for activities for Wuhan Coronavirus Remote Learning.

What in the World?
We are living in history! Someday, you and your children will look back at what is happening right now and remember it as a historical event. While it is happening, let's pay attention to all the ways that things are being affected and changed.
Look at Friday, March 13th's Journal Gazette Newspaper Headlines seen here. What different things do you see in the headlines being affected by what is going on? Also, just for fun, what do you think about these headlines being on
Friday the 13th?
Does this seem like we are living in a strange movie script?
MARCH SADNESS
HEALTH MEETING: NO PROGRESS
STOCKS PLUNGE
ST. PATRICK'S PARTY CANCELLED
WORKERS HIT BY VIRUS

What's happening with our economy? Jobs? The stock market? Stores? The supply of goods like Toilet Paper, Hand Sanitizer, and Water bottles?
Is this going to be LONG LASTING like the Charmin Bear is saying? What are your predictions?
Go to FLIPGRID.com and enter the code to get to my page.... Whirrett007. Make a creative video based on the following and post it for all of us to see. If the Nazi's were coming and you had ONE HOUR to collect supplies from your home and then head to the woods to hide and survive, what would you collect? Your video could SHOW us... you could just TELL us.... or you could go around your house and really COLLECT up everything needed. How would you carry it all? How would you pack it?
