The 8th Grade Daily Schedule
Our classes are listed below in order of how we do them on a regular day of school. After the class schedule, begin your work by either clicking on one of the following buttons for Miss McWilliams or Mr. Marinko's class (3rd Quarter)... or by continuing on below to get to Mr. Whirrett's assignments for that day. You may do your work in any order on an "E-Learning Day," but just make sure you do all of the tasks assigned for that day. Make sure you also ask Mr. Mezger and Mrs. Frerking what your assignments are for this E-learning Day. (I'm sure they told you, but they did not (yet?) give me a link to add those here.
8:55 Religion (If it's 3rd Quarter, Click on Mr. Marinko's Button below!)
9:25 Math
10:55 Science
11:40 English Language Arts & Literature

MR. WHIRRETT'S CLASSES
FOR 8th GRADERS
Second Quarter Religion:
God Created the Heavens and the Earth
1) Re-read Genesis 1. Write down what God created on each of the 6 days of creation, and what He did on the 7th day. Number them 1 to 7. (Do this on the Google Documents 8th Grade Religion Page. I have invited you all to join the class via your school e-mail. Or, using your school e-mail, join using the code hio21o4. Note that the lower case o's are letters and the big digits are numbers.)
2) Study your Memory for this week. Work on this for at least 15 minutes. The Assignment is Week 11 - week of October 28. You should know Acts 2:42, the First Article and Explanation of the Creed, and the first verse of Hymn 656: A Mighty Fortress is Our God. We will do the memory quiz in class on Friday morning.

UNITED STATES HISTORY
On Sunday, May 3rd, 2020, at approximately 8:00 p.m., we are going to start here, at 1125 Barr Street... the address of your school, St. Paul's Lutheran... and load up on a Motor Coach. It will be our "traveling home" for the next five days! (Of course, we will take breaks from our "home" at the hotel for three nights!)
When you wake up, you will be in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, the site of some of one of the bloodiest battles in World History. The amazing things here - the courage and bravery of those men - has had a lasting impact on our nation's history... and on all of us.
...and we are going to end up in Washington, D.C. on Monday afternoon, May 6th. The red marker shows where the White House is, located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest.
For History Class, you have two parts to your assignment. First, click on the button below to open Google Maps. Use the address bar at the top left to enter "Gettysburg". After you enter it, the box will change slightly. Click where it says "Directions". Put in St. Paul's address (see above the first map if you have forgotten the address of St. Paul's.)
Turn your work in in Google Classroom on our 8th Grade U.S. History Page. (I invited you to this class, or you can get to it by using your school g-mail account and putting in this code: wvo096. You are looking for the U.S. History Assignment for October 25, due 5 days later on October 31.) Tell me how many miles it is from St. Paul's to Gettysburg, and how many hours and minutes it should take us to get there when driving (Google maps will tell you if you put it in directions).
After you have finished this, go on to the second assignment. You will answer that assignment on the same document.

Click on the Button Below to watch the Battle of Little Round Top at Gettysburg (1863)
After watching this short video on The Battle of Little Round Top, write a 1-2 paragraph
(at least 100 words) description of what YOU thought was most incredible about that battle. If you need to see more... go to YouTube and watch a little more about what happens at that part of the Battle of Gettysburg. There are more "parts" and "segments" to that Battle at Little Round Top.
